TUSKA FESTIVAL GATHERED 28 000 METALHEADS IN HELSINKI
Nineteenth annual Tuska Festival was celebrated over the weekend in Suvilahti, Helsinki. For the first time, Friday and Saturday nights partied on until midnight, thanks to the city of Helsinki. Tuska saturday was sold out with 11 000 metallers throwing down to the sounds of Ghost and impressive cast of other metal notables. All in all, Tuska 2016 gathered 28 000 visitors over 3 days.
Artistic highpoints of the weekend in addition to the aforementioned Ghost were Poland’s black/death pride Behemoth, Norway’s action rockers Kvelertak, grooving Frenchmen Gojira, evergreat Children Of Bodom boys to name a few.
The new fourth stage with panel discussion related program proved to be a hit, Scott Ian interview as a main attraction.
Festival director Eeka Mäkynen comments: ”This year kicked ass. The bands were amazing and the crownd loved every minute of it. The atmosphere was superb. This was the best year in Suvilahti, next year is going to be even sicker. It’s going to be our 20th anniversary so we have to up the ante. And you know we will.”
Tuska 2017 will take place 30.6.-2.7.2017. Mark the date.
